As politics approach “red hot” in advance of the November elections, the cities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis are preparing for their moment in the sun when the Republican National Convention comes to town in September. In the midst of it all, Premier Gallery has prepared a show of its own.

Genus elephas is an exhibition of original artwork inspired by or about the elephant. From the Latin for elephant, Genus elephas features the iconic symbol of the Republican Party, though the gallery remains politically neutral. “The purpose of the exhibition is to cast attention on art and artists while the national spotlight is focused on the Twin Cities and the convention. We are excited about this rare opportunity,” says Kelvin Miller, director of Premier Gallery.

Artists from across the Midwest are represented in this exciting exhibition.
