A conservation picture; recent historical research suggests that early Easter Island people were heavily engaged in statue building, which resulted in the loss of all trees on the island. This in turn led to both an environmental and cultural collapse. In some parts of the world today, there is much talk of clearing land, without thought of the future consequences. Acrylic on canvas, stretched on to a wooden frame. This original painting is now in a private collection, but I will be happy to paint another similiar one.
